I'm getting very tired of being beaten out of the galley. There is no way I'm surviving on rats (and how am I supposed to keep them from the kitchens if I'm not allowed inside, anyway?)

We're in the middle of the ocean, the least I can ask for is some decent fish.

Enjoy the curse, City. I'll be sticking with my usual diet, unless there happen to be fish-flavored waffles lying around.

Well, I suppose I'm not human often enough to complain.

I hope you're not cursed too badly today, Rose. Maybe we can finally go for coffee.

Before I became a Contractor, I wanted children. That ended with the Gate. Spending time and energy tending to another human being isn't rational.

Somehow, though, I ended up finding one anyway.

Now this seems familiar.

Welcome, I suppose. This time there aren't any secrets for you to reveal.

Is there a hidden camera in our apartment?

Better yet, can somebody find me one?

Congratulations, Hei.

Also if anyone's wondering, I'm actually atheist.

I fed and clothed them for all those years, working my paws to the bone, and this is the thanks I receive?

The devil is in my children. I need a priest. Or an exorcist. A better exorcist than my son.

The City's turned into quite the zoo today.

A bit of advice to those of you with wings now: don't take things too fast. You wind up flying into windows that way.

Felines and humans of the City, lend me your ears:

On this feast day to the glory of your great ruler, Mao I, my personal chef will be preparing a feast for all nobles of the City. You and all your servants are all invited to my palace for the festivities this evening.

After the celebration will be the annual Square Parade, where all who live in the City may greet your benevolent ruler and present unto me tokens of your affection. As always, hunting will be suspended for the remainder of the day.

Enjoy the festivities, citizens.

Pharaoh of the Upper and Lower City,

Mao I

Well, that was interesting.

Seems the City's decided to bring more faces from home. There's good news, bad news, and even worse news. If you run into Huang, I would say that I feel for you except I really can't.

Also, Rose, I forgive you for the song about eating cats.

So then, what are the requirements for being able to vote?

Right. Are you ready, Hei?

Working alongside a MI6 agent in order to find another one... This place does create unlikely alliances.

[ooc: yes, folks, you see that right. Mao borrowed the body of a tiger for July's rescue mission.]

Exploding buildings. It's becoming even more like home. I assume no one aside from the deities was hurt, unless someone was unlucky enough to be bartering with them today.

And without any sort of pun intended... are you feeling better?
